This tour is of an easy active rating designed for everyone who loves camping in the middle of the Nature

An extraordinary tour exploring the deepest of the primary forest in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. Our greatest Amazon adventure will start in the city of Lago Agrio or Sushufindy or Coca.

During this incredible journey you will visit the Eastern part of the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest as far as the border with Peru along the Aguarico, Lagarto Cocha, river with great chances of watching wildlife. Your whole journey will be around 600 Km in total. During this fantastic tour you will have the opportunity to visit Iripari Lake (Zancudo Cocha) which is the largest blackwater lake in the Ecuadorian Amazon. You will also have the chance to admire the biggest flooded forest area in our Ecuadorian Amazon where you will easily observe the legendary pink freshwater Dolphin (Innia Geofrensis).

Our program

DAY 1.

We pick up passengers 08:30 from Lago Agrio

Land transportation 1:30 minutes to the river port Tierras Orientales, canoe trip on the Aguarico River, 5 hours approximately, lunch at a beach on the river.

Accommodation at the lodge.

Night walk.


DAY 2.

06:00 bird watching, return to the lodge.

After breakfast, hike 3 hours approximately, return for lunch.

Visit to the Caiman Cocha Lagoon to enjoy the flora and fauna, as well as to swim in the lagoon, return to the lodge.

DAY 3.

After breakfast we continue downstream the Aguarico river to reach the confluence with the Lagartococha river. We head to our camp site situated deep in remote jungle along Lagartococha river We put up our tents at our third campsite,  accessing the flooded area where we discover some lagoons connected by Black water Rivers. Here you admire a different ecosystem which exists in the flooded forest or varzea region, with a good chance visit the Imuya lake.

We have our box lunch.

In the afternoon we enjoy swimming in the Delfin Cocha lake while observing some freshwater pink dolphins swimming close to us.  dinner.

DAY 4.

After breakfast we will travel to the Lagarto Cocha River, observing the flora, birds and fauna of the area, we will be able to observe groups of pink and gray dolphins of the Amazon.

Walk for 3 hours approximately

Return to the camp, lunch 

In the afternoon tour of several lagoons in the sector, observation of monkeys. and caiman wathcing


DAY 5.

We enjoy an early activity before our breakfast. We explore with a full excursion, by motor canoe upstream Lagartococha River; it is the limit border with Peru.

After breakfast our naturalist guide takes us to a different ecosystem, Terra Firme forest, where we hike into pristine primary rainforest.

We continue our excursion by motor canoe that ends in a remote Secoya Community where Peruvian and Ecuadorian indigenous live together.

 We have our box Lunch.

 While the local guide shows us their customs which their ancestors have taught throughout generations, a secoya woman offers us the bread of the jungle a traditional preparation with yucca.

Later we return to our campsite. After dinner, we venture out on a night excursion to search for Caimans (alligator family).

DAY 6.

Early in the morning we`ll navigate slowly for a bird watching trip and to enjoy the fantastic sounds of the Rainforest life. After breakfast we’ll continue our adventure navigating up river, exploring deep in this pristine remote rainforest with excellent chances of spotting wildlife including: Parrots and Macaws, Herons, Egrets, Toucans and many other different species of birds. With some luck we´ll see some of the 10 species of Monkeys that live in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve.

 After Lunch and a relaxing time, we’ll explore by motorized canoe the fantastic Garza Cocha Lake and its stunning landscape with good chances of observing wildlife. This lake is also a good place to enjoy a refreshing swim. At night and before dinner we`ll take a short hike where it is possible to see giant insects, spiders, snakes and enjoy the fantastic sounds of the night life in the Amazon. Return to the campsite for Dinner.

DAY 7.

After breakfast walk for approximately 2 hours, observation of the flora and fauna of the Amazon, explanation of the different trees, vines, plants, perfect place to take pictures. return for lunch.

DAY 8.

After breakfast return on the Aguarico River for approximately 5 to 6 hours.

Transfer by land to Lago Agrio estimated time of arrival 17:00



You must bring your original Passport, Long-sleeved T-shirts, T-shirts, Cotton socks, Shorts, Sandals or walking shoes, Light waterproof wind-breaker, First aid kit, Swimming suit and towel, Hat or cap, Sunglasses with a strap, One small waterproof daypack, Insect repellent, Sun block and Sunburn lotion, Zip lock plastic bags, Camera and spare camera batteries, Flashlight (torch) with spare batteries, Binoculars, Notepad/pen.


Transportation from Lago Agrio or Shushufindy (Bus & Canoe), experienced bilingual naturalist guide / translator, Accommodation in the Lodge, camping equipment, rubber boots (up to No 45), Rain coat (Poncho), life jackets, Lunch and dinner on the first day, Three meals a day on the next days and breakfast and lunch on the last day, purified bottled water, tea, coffee, cuisine that caters vegetarians and vegans, airport and bus station transfers in Lago Agrio.
